- The City Bird : Magpie
- Magpie lives on the hills close to quiet villages and often flies around the villages. It is thought to be a good omen for a Magpie to be found singing on the gate, roof, or wall when a precious guest is coming.
- City Tree : Gingko Tree
- The Gingko Tree is a long-living tree and easy to grow.
It symbolizes the prosperity, victory, cooperation, and unity of the people.
- The City Flower : Apricot Flowers
- The Apricot Tree blooms flowers before it bears leaves, so it is beautiful. As one of the Four Gracious Plants, its integrity is compared to that of a scholar.
City Logo
The spirit of noble scholars as the center of Korean traditional culture are reflected in the image of Taegeuk (the Korean Yin and Yang Symbol). In addition, green and blue colors show a clean natural environment upstream of the Nakdong River.
The traditional Five Colors of Korea are used as the primary colors to modernize and succeed the identity of Korean culture and the spirit of noble scholars. Overall, the symbol of infinity is expressed dynamically.
